Insulated Plasterboard
At PSCM, we manufacture a range of thermal plasterboards to suit different applications and thicknesses.
XPS
Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) insulated board is generally renowned for high compressive strength, thermal resistance, moisture resistance, and durability. Suitable for new build and refurbishment projects, it is mostly used in arduous moisture-prone environments and semi-exposed applications: car parks, concrete floors, cavity wall insulation, foundations, green roofs, and under slabs.
Key information:
- Thermal conductivity 0.021 – 0.022 W/m.K
- Euroclass F (Typical Reaction to Fire classification) and Class 1 or Class O fire classification to the Building
- Compressive strength of 120 kPa at 10% compression
- Thickness ranges from 6mm to 150mm
- The board is typically supplied in in 2400mm x 1200mm nominal dimensions. However, the laminate can be manufactured in a range of dimensions upon request.
EPS
EPS (Expanded Polystyrene Insulation): EPS is a lightweight, cost-effective option that offers excellent thermal insulation and is often used in packaging products and a wide range of construction applications, from walls to roofs. It is easy to recycle due to the nature of its component materials.
Key information:
- The thermal conductivity of expanded polystyrene foam of density 20 kg/m3 is 0.035 – 0.037 W/(m·K) at 10°C.
- Euroclass E
- Compressive strength of 70 kPa – 250 kPa.
- Thickness ranges from 6mm to 150mm
- The board is typically supplied in in 2400mm x 1200mm nominal dimensions. However, the laminate can be manufactured in a range of dimensions upon request.
PIR
Polyisocyanurate Insulation (PIR) is renowned for its high thermal performance and low moisture absorption maintaining energy efficiency in a variety of construction applications, including insulation of walls, roofs, and floors.
Key information:
- The thermal conductivity 0.022 W/mK
- Euroclass E
- Compressive strength of at least 120 kPa at 10% compression.
- Thickness ranges from 20mm to 200mm
- The board is typically supplied in in 2400mm x 1200mm nominal dimensions. However, the laminate can be manufactured in a range of dimensions upon request.
PHE
Phenolic Foam Insulation (PHE) provides excellent thermal efficiency with a high resistance to fire (A1 fire rated products), making it ideal for projects where both energy conservation and fire safety are critical: concrete slab floors, floor joists, and garage conversions.

- The thermal conductivity 0.019 W/mK
- Euroclass E
- Compressive strength of at least 120 kPa at 10% compression.
- Thickness ranges from 25mm to 140mm
- The board is typically supplied in in 2400mm x 1200mm nominal dimensions. However, the laminate can be manufactured in a range of dimensions upon request.
